The principal investigator was the lead trainer at a 1-day intensive course on the principles and practice of Psychological first aid for health care workers organised by the Department of Mental Health, Obafemi Awolowo University, in collaboration with the Foundation for the care and resettlement of the mentally Ill (CAREMI).
The aim of the course was to build the capacity of health care workers on emergency psychological response in crisis settings, communicating hope and fostering self-care. The event took place between the 4th of August 2023 between 10.00 am to 3.00 pm at the CAREMI House, Mental Health Unit, OAUTHC, Ile Ife, Nigeria. We had over 20 participants in attendance.
