The PI was invited as a guest speaker to the Nigerian Academy of Medicine Webinar titled “Towards Improving Adolescent Health and Wellbeing in Nigeria: Policy, Research and Programme Dimensions” which was held on Wednesday 14th June, 2023 at 4 pm (Lagos/WAT).
The PI spoke on the topic: Adolescent Health in Nigeria: Making Mental Health Count in Programmes and Research.
Other invited speakers and the topics were:
- Prof Adesola Olumide – Current Adolescent Health Situation in Nigeria and the Implications for Programmes and Research Agenda;
- Prof Adesegun Fatusi – National policy frameworks for improving adolescent health in Nigeria and the implementation challenges; and
- Dr. Ejike Oji – Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health in Nigeria: Policy Issues.
The Webinar was moderated by Dr. Gbenga Adebayo; CEO, Living Health, Lagos. The Chair/Guest of Honour was Professor Isaac F. Adewole, Former Minister of Health, Federal Republic of Nigeria. In all, the webinar had almost 100 participants with health workers and policymakers from around the country in attendance.
